There are several imports that stole the show at this year’s LA Auto Show, but one new vehicle that shouldn’t go unnoticed is the all-new 2009 Volkswagen CC. Following the latest trend in German engineering, the Volkswagen CC is a four-door coupe, offering the convenience of a sedan with the sleek profile and sporty performance of a coupe.

Despite the huge sales declines for SUVs and trucks, there’s one niche within the SUV segment that remains viable and profitable for automakers: the crossover. American drivers are finally realizing that full-size, truck-based, gas-guzzling sport utilities are just silly when you can get moderately efficient cargo haulers with a far more compliant and even sporty ride in the form of a crossover.
