With the Infiniti Essence concept, revealed this week at the Geneva Motor Show, Infiniti plans to enter the burgeoning luxury-hybrid market. Infiniti, which is still growing its brand in Europe, has no plans to produce the Essence coupe, but thus far the concept has already turned plenty of heads – even as other luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls-Royce, have all introduced new models at the show.

Hyundai made it clear that when designing the all-new Hyundai Genesis Coupe, they used the Infiniti G37 coupe as its muse. The appeal of the 2009 Infiniti G37, seamlessly combining luxury and performance, is not easy to duplicate, but it seems as though the Hyundai largely achieved their lofty goal.

The current generation Infiniti G has become better than its predecessor in just about every way. It’s larger, more powerful, and even packed with more technology and features. If the current G sedan and coupe didn’t offer enough, drivers can now also get the G with a drop-top.

Although we’ve had the pleasure of having the Infiniti brand here in the States for quite awhile, the brand is still unknown to European consumers. However, Infiniti is currently working hard to change that as Nissan’s luxury brand is finally making its debut across the pond.
