Each year the Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge gives California-based design studios a chance to flex their creative muscles. This year the theme was Youthmobile 2030 and studios were tasked with envisioning vehicles in the year 2030 and how they would incorporate telecommunications. Despite tough competition from Mazda, Honda, General Motors, Toyota, and Audi, the winner was the V2G [UNLMTD] from Nissan. The V2G, or Vehicle to Grid, is an electric vehicle designed specifically for the youth consumer. In addition to its futuristic design, the V2G is intended to be low-cost transportation and provides an eco-friendly solution for younger motorists. The car is designed to tap into a new ultra-efficient, high-speed highway network that we hope we’ll see in the future along with this design.
