Although the next generation Range Rover will no doubt retain many of its classic, rugged design cues, it will benefit from an all-new alloy chassis that’s expected to reduce the luxury SUV’s weight by more than 800 pounds. Thanks to shedding hundreds of pounds, the Range Rover is also likely to yield greatly improved fuel-economy numbers – which for a manufacturer of SUVs has become imperative.
Some speculation has suggested that the next-gen Range Rover will offer as much as 40 mpg, but regardless of the exact figures the new model will surely offer an improvement over the current generation’s 14 miles per gallon.
