Mazda will soon be saying goodbye to the RX-8 and will be reintroducing the RX-7 nameplate. The current Mazda RX-8 is quickly becoming dated in terms of styling, and it’s simply too pricey compared to more recent import and even domestic competitors. The next generation rotary-engine sports car will not only revive the RX-7, but it will reportedly take a more back-to-basics approach with a more modest price tag. Even so, the 2012 Mazda RX-7 will still garner 200+ horsepower and have a base price around $25K. Look for this new sports car to break cover in 2011.
