Despite its solid reputation for producing economical compacts, Hyundai has proven it was also capable of producing luxury cars as well thanks to the Infinti-fighting Hyundai Genesis. On the heels of the Genesis’ success, Hyundai will likely continue its push up market, even while sticking with compact packages. This is precisely why Hyundai is currently considering a U.S. launch of its MINI Cooper-fighting i20. Designed by Hyundai’s Germany-based European design team, the Hyundai i20 could be able to battle European compacts here in the States if the automaker is able to shake the image it earned following years of producing ‘cheap’ cars. Whether the i20 makes it here or not, expect many more changes and new models from Hyundai.
