With the unveiling of the Honda Insight it was clear that Honda is hoping to end the reign of Toyota’s hybrid segment dominance. One factor that may make the Honda Insight ultra competitive against the segment-leading Toyota Prius is the price. Starting at $19,800, the Honda Insight is officially the least expensive hybrid vehicle in America. Although hybrid technology is catching on, the cost of the technology remains high. The release of the Honda Insight may help to change that as the price point may become more of the focus for consumers.
