Unlike most automakers, Porsche does not feel the need to make full redesigns every couple of years. Frankly we can’t blame them as the Porsche 911 Carrera continues to be a head-turner. So to pay homage to classic Porsche design, the automaker will be unveiling the 911 Sport Classic this month in Frankfurt. The Porsche 911 Sport Classic is a modern tribute to the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7. The most noticeable difference from other 911 models may be the “ducktail” spoiler in the rear. Or, the biggest difference may be the $169,300 price tag. Power will be generated by a 408-horsepower 3.8-liter six cylinder engine with direct fuel injection mated to a six-speed manual gear box. A mere 250 lucky buyers will be able to get their hands on a Porsche that pays tribute to classic 911 style when it becomes available in January.
