The 2013 Porsche Boxster won’t official make its debut until the Geneva Motor Show in March, but we’ve already been given a glimpse of the overhauled model. For the upcoming model year, Porsche is giving the Boxster better performance and fuel economy, as well as refreshed lines that are more akin to the recently redesigned 911.

In typical Porsche fashion, the new Boxster is more evolution than revolution, which suits us just fine. The all-aluminum roadster has been subtly and tastefully restyled, and it now features a wider track and a lower curb weight. The latter will help make the 2013 Boxster more efficient, while also providing better driving dynamics.

Two flat-six engines with direct injection will reside in the rear. The base Boxster will get a a 2.7-liter flat six engine that produces 265 horsepower. The Boxster S gets a 3.4-liter six that produces 315 hp. The base model will be able to perform a 0-60 mph sprint in 5.4 seconds when equipped with the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The Boxster S will be able to do the same sprint in just 4.7 seconds.

The 2013 Porsche Boxster is slated to arrive in U.S. showrooms this summer for a base price of $49,500. The Boxster S can be had for $60,900. Stay tuned for additional details closer to the model’s official debut.
